Cliff Imer 1925-2021 Life Member, Brunswick Hockey club
The club was very saddened to hear of the passing of Cliff Imer, a life member of the club.
Cliff played 21 years for Brunswick Hockey from juniors/seniors 1938 to 1958. Cliff managed to combine administrative roles, playing A grade and competing at interstate carnivals.
In a playing role, Cliff was Club Captain/Coach for 9 years, committee member for over 10 years, Publicity Officer 3 years, Treasurer 5 years and played A grade for 13 of his 16 senior years.
Additionally, Cliff found time with a young family at home to represent Brunswick as a delegate to V.A.H.A ( now Hockey Victoria) for 5 years, and also as a member of the grading committee for 4 years.
Cliff represented Victoria in 1946 and 1949 and was reported to be a fierce but fair player.
Cliff passed away peacefully on New Year’s Day 2021, aged 95 following a great life.
The club would like to extend their condolences to Col, Russ and Helen and their families.
Photos below are of Cliff attending the Waverly v Brunswick PL game in 2018 (which Brunswick won) presenting his club blazer to club historian Noel "Bori" Turner and Cliff being presented a current playing shirt by PL Captain Dean Streete.
